One the world’s fastest growing carriers, Turkish Airlines, today announced its intent to order 70 737 narrow-bodied aircraft from Boeing.
That order for the Renton-built planes is worth $6.9 billion at list prices. The airline also took options for an additional 25 737 Max 8s. The 70-plane order consists of 40 737 Max 8s, 10 737 Max 9s and 20 Next Generation 737-800s.
The Next Generation aircraft are current models being built at Renton. The Max aircraft are updated planes with new engines and aerodynamic improvements designed to improve fuel efficiency. The first 737 Max is due to enter service …
