Boeing today booked a $1 billion order for 12 of its Next Generation 737-800 jets with Sberbank of Russia.
The bank’s leasing arm, Sberbank Leasing, will rent those aircraft to the Russian airline Transaero. Sberbank is the largest bank in Russia.
“The agreement that we have reached today marks a very significant step forward and is evidence of Sberbank’s commitment to aviation financing.
