In a development similar to one that hit Boeing during its development of its game-changing composite-bodied 787 jetliner, Boeing rival Airbus is reportedly considering buying the factory the produces composite fuselage sections for its upcoming composite airliner, the A350.
Aviation Week is reporting that the European planemaker is in talks with Spirit Aerosystems to buy that American company’s French plant that produces composite mid-fuselage sections for the A350.
Delays at that plant have impacted the scheduled delivery of the first A350.
