The Washington Main Street Program has recognized both a South Sound organization and a South Sound volunteer with its annual Excellence on Main Awards.
The group honors communities, organizations and individuals who “are helping to achieve economic vitality and build sustainable communities through downtown revitalization and preservation,” according to a press release this week.
The program is housed in Olympia within the state Department of Archaeology and Historic Preservation and is administered under contract by the Washington Trust for Historic Preservation.
