Four local businesses – two private companies and two public entities – are the first annual winners of an award that recognizes their efforts to reduce carbon dioxide emissions.
The honor, the first annual Polar Bear Paw of Approval Award, is presented by Metro Parks Tacoma’s Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium, the City of Tacoma Sustainability Commission and the Arctic Action Team. That team promotes awareness of the plight of polar bears.
